TRENDS

In 2017 we saw relaxed bridal hair, long flowing waves and less was more.  This year, it’s all set to change, 2018 is the year of the ‘up do’.  At the New York Bridal Fashion week, models were seen gracing the catwalk wearing tight top knots to fishtail plaits as well as the ‘relaxed’ ponytails.

Keri and Shannon who do most of our Bridal work here at Headmasters are excited about this change in trend as they love getting creative with their brides.

GETTING IT RIGHT

Every bride wants their day to be perfect and wants to choose a hair style that’s going to last all day from the photos to dancing the night away. First step is choosing your hair stylist, ask around – friends, recommendations on Facebook, look at reviews. Don’t be afraid to visit many different salons and talk to about what your looking for, ask questions and also to see any work they’ve previously done.  You want someone who you’ll feel comfortable with as well as able to give you the style you want, after all they’ll be sharing part of the most important day of your life with you.  Keri recommends then booking your chosen hairdresser as soon as possible to secure the day, especially during wedding season.  Use magazines and the internet for inspiration, rip out styles you like or save pictures on your phone and take them all to your first consultation.  Think about the colour you want your hair to be and any accessories you’ll be wearing.  Book yourself at least one trial before the big day and bring any headpieces along with you, so that they can be incorporated.

Whatever style you go for Shannon recommends to think about the condition of your hair and a course of treatments like La Biosthetique Protection Cheveux Complex (or PCC treatment) leading up to the big day and give your hair that shine and glow you want on your day.

Hair might not seem like one of the big items on your list but just remember along with the dress you’ll be looking at photo’s of your chosen style for years and years to come
